Happy Valentines Day
I remember the first time she kicked me during the pregnancy. It was valentines day 2011. I had just returned home from a doctors appointment and was having lunch on the couch, while watching Oprah. It was unmistakeable. I had been having quite a few false alarms (i.e., was that the baby or gas?). I think it was 3 or 4 series of kicks, which I took as morse code that meant 'I love you mummy'.
This year was different! She is so big and beautiful and smart. She was giving me kisses, by holding her lips to my face then smacking her lips together after she pulled away.
We went out to dinner, just the three of us, and Imogen had a bowl of white rice. Yum!
I have never been Valentines day's biggest fan, it always seemed like a lot of pressure to do something for no particular reason (I know, I know, except for 'because you love your partner'). I think this year has been our most relaxed Valentines, with only a nice dinner at the end of the day (OK and a few small gifts for me!) and I think it was my favourite so far!
Happy Valentines.
