Imogen at 8 months
I cannot believe I have an 8 month old baby. I realised it rather suddenly on Saturday, that it was the 25th and I could no longer say I had a seven month old. I don't know where that month went.
We have seen so many changes in the past month. A month ago we saw the start of crawling, which was limited to a pretty short distance. A month ago we saw the start of her being able to pull herself up on us, with help. Now she can crawl across a room and pull herself up on the side of the couch to standing, with no help!
In the past week she has FINALLY had her very first tooth cut through. Down the bottom on the left side.
She is such a good little eater. But so. very. messy. She loves baked apples, pears and sweet potato.
The only backwards step we have had has been babbling! A month ago she was saying bubba and mumma and pa. Now she has gone back to the dinosaur roar. It's because I'm a speech pathologist. I am sure of it. It's what I am watcthing for the most, so it'll be the last thing to develop!

Happy Valentines Day
I remember the first time she kicked me during the pregnancy. It was valentines day 2011. I had just returned home from a doctors appointment and was having lunch on the couch, while watching Oprah. It was unmistakeable. I had been having quite a few false alarms (i.e., was that the baby or gas?). I think it was 3 or 4 series of kicks, which I took as morse code that meant 'I love you mummy'.
This year was different! She is so big and beautiful and smart. She was giving me kisses, by holding her lips to my face then smacking her lips together after she pulled away.
We went out to dinner, just the three of us, and Imogen had a bowl of white rice. Yum!
I have never been Valentines day's biggest fan, it always seemed like a lot of pressure to do something for no particular reason (I know, I know, except for 'because you love your partner'). I think this year has been our most relaxed Valentines, with only a nice dinner at the end of the day (OK and a few small gifts for me!) and I think it was my favourite so far!
Happy Valentines.

Planning Imogen's first birthday
When I first found out that I was having a little girl, I was thrilled. It meant it was time for PINK, and princesses, and fairies, and dresses, and more pink.
But then I met Imogen and she was different. She looked a little bit uncomfortable in her dresses, and she ROARS like a dinosaur. So when people started asking about what I would do for her birthday, dinosaurs seemed like the obvious answer. I've decided on the theme pink dinosaurs because I don't know if I'll get away with pink at future parties, it will be up to her! Here is some inspiration:
Imogen's first holiday.
A very dear friend of mine got engaged last year and invited us to her engagement party, in Adelaide.
I lived in Adelaide from 1991-97 and I always enjoy a reason to go back! I hadn't been back since 2006 (when my friend turned 21).
Since Imogen was invited to the engagement party we decided to take her down for the week. And it was so much fun!
For a very long time we had said that we would drive down, we've done the drive to Melbourne so many times and we didn't think it would be that much further! It would have been 24 hours in the car (6 more hours than the drive to Melbourne). And since recently Imogen has not been shy about crying in the car, at the last minute we decided to fly.
She was pretty good on the flight with some mild over-tired whingeing before take-off. She mostly slept in her dads arms. I didn't realise this, but Rhys was holding Immy and the person on the other side of him had taken up the arm-rest so he was holding all 9 odd kilos of her for two hours without support!
We stayed at a hotel in Kent town, across the road from a park. One thing that I really enjoyed about Adelaide is the fact that they had daylight until 8-9pm, so we could have dinner at the park across the street!
While we were there we took Imogen to the museum, the zoo, the beach, the mall and Hahndorf, a local german town. It was such a great holiday. It was so special for me, being able to take her to the places I went to when I was a kid.

Imogen at seven months
I am pretty hopeless at keeping up this blog!
Oh well, a lot has happened since my last blog.
Imogen is changing daily! In the last month she has started forward crawling, babbling, pulling herself up and she now sits at the dinner table and has her own little meal twice a day.
Favourite foods include baby cerial, pear, bread and mango.
Her babbling started quite suddenly. She looked over at her daddy on Australia day and went 'babble! Baba baba baba' and that was the start and since then she hasn't stopped!
I often get the feeling I am being told off. "bubba" is her favourite utterance at the moment.
Daddy is a big favourite!
She goes to sleep at 7pm with minimal fuss and will sleep through until 630am.
I do give her a dream feed as I go to bed just to make sure 930-11pm)
She is currently letting me know that she is awake from her afternoon nap.
More eventually to come.
